What a vkRetA starting point gives you

When you create a business in vkRetA, you choose whether it sells products, provides services or does both, and you pick the business type that is closest to yours. vkRetA then prepares a storefront with sample categories, a short welcome line, a colour accent and a section order that suits that kind of business. A service business sees its services first; a product business leads with categories and featured items.

The sample catalogue is there to show how the website will look with real content. You review it before the store is created, and every name, price, image and description can be changed or removed afterwards.

Business types available during setup

The setup form currently offers these starting points. Each one only changes the first draft of the website; the same workspace, plan limits and tools apply to every business.

  • General retail: everyday essentials, stationery, home utility and gifts
  • Fashion and accessories: new arrivals, ethnic wear, western wear and accessories
  • Beauty studio or salon: makeup, hair and skin services with bookable appointments
  • Cosmetics and personal care: skincare, makeup, hair care, bath and body
  • Food or bakery: cakes, breads, savouries, cookies and treats
  • Home, gifts and handmade: decor, gifts, candles and stationery
  • Start blank: an empty catalogue for businesses that prefer to build from nothing

How to choose the right starting point

Pick the template by how customers act, not only by what you sell. If customers buy an item and expect it delivered or ready for pickup, choose a product-led starting point. If they book your time, such as a haircut, a repair visit or a consultation, choose a service business so the website shows services, durations and open times. If you do both, for example a salon that also sells hair-care products, choose products and services together.

Cloud kitchens and home food businesses usually suit the food or bakery starting point. Tutors, consultants and repair businesses usually suit a service business with the blank catalogue, because their service names are specific to them.

Make the template your own in an afternoon

Most businesses get a useful first version live by working through a short list. You do not need to finish everything on day one; accurate basics are better than a complete but outdated catalogue.

  • Upload your logo and confirm the business name, phone number and address
  • Replace sample categories with the ones your customers recognise
  • Add your best-selling products or most-booked services first, with honest prices
  • Photograph items in good daylight; Free allows one image per item and 5 MB of media, Pro allows three images per item and 25 MB
  • Write delivery, pickup, cancellation and return policies in plain language
  • For services, set working days, hours, service durations and buffers before sharing the link
  • Preview the storefront on a phone before you publish it

What the template does not decide for you

A template does not set your prices, tax rates, policies or delivery area. Those come from you, and the website only shows what you publish. vkRetA websites are published on a vkRetA subdomain; merchant-owned custom domains and online payment collection are not active today, so product orders use cash on delivery and services use appointment requests.

Every starting point stays editable

Replace the example identity, images, catalogue, policies, business hours and contact details. The final storefront reflects the information the merchant chooses to publish.
